Collections over Christmas and during Adverse Weather

Christmas and New Year

To find out when your refuse and recycling bins will be emptied over Christmas and New Year, please visit the 'My Property' page and enter your post code. Your next collection date will be shown, along with a link to your collection calendar.


On the first collection after Christmas we will collect:

  • your refuse bin and two extra bags of waste; or
  • up to six purple bags of refuse


  • Extra recycling will be collected throughout the year. Please check the waste policy.


Collections during road closures/adverse weather conditions

During bad weather/road closures the Council will attempt to collect on the normal collection day or within the next 48 hours. If we cannot collect within this time frame residents can put out:

Next refuse collection

  • Three extra bags of refuse

Next recycling collection

  • Extra recycling will be collected throughout the year
