Submission of the Amber Valley Borough Local Plan

The Amber Valley Borough Local Plan and supporting documents were submitted to the Secretary of State on 02 March 2018. A copy of the Notice of Submission can be viewed below.

What happens next?

Appointment of independent planning Inspector :-

The Secretary of State has appointed an independent planning Inspector, Karen Baker DipTP MA DipMP MRTPI, to conduct an examination to consider the "soundness" of the Local Plan. 

Examination :-

The independent planning Inspector will check that all legal and other requirements have been met. The Inspector will take into account the submission documents and evidence base and will also consider the representations received following the publication of the Pre-Submission Local Plan in November 2017.

Part of the examination process will involve hearing sessions, where those invited to participate by the Inspector will have the opportunity to respond to matters raised. The hearing sessions will be open to the public to attend, but only those invitied to participate in the hearings will be able to speak.

The precise date for the opening of any formal hearing part of the examination into the Local Plan will be determined by the Inspector who is appointed. Details will be provided at a later date.

Programme Officer :-

The examination process will be administered by the appointed Programme Officer, Carmel Edwards of CP Solutions Ltd. Ms Edwards is independent from the Borough Council and works directly to the Inspector.

All communication to and from the Inspector will be managed by the Programme Officer and any correspondence or queries relating to the examination should be directed to the Programme Officer using the contact details below.
